"I recommend not laying machine on its back. did this to try get leverage to undo screw but after putting new seal in reassembling standing machine upright, was concerned may have damaged as would not build sufficient pressure to operate. took a 3 minutes of running it to get it operating again. suspect may have just emptied the pipes or introduced air blockage. under all circumstances recommend removal of water tank before doing this. and always recommend disconnecting from mains power even though was nowhere near electrical circuits for replacement of this part."

"Really easy.... unscrew the round shower curtain using a small philipps screwdriver and remove use a long nose pliers to pull out the blue brew head seal clean the area while you have the chance gently place thenew seal in position and screw the shower screen back into place"

"The top of the steam pump body has a threaded connector with a seat for the seal. this seat lip is too weak and splits causing water to get into the pumps windings shorting it out. it would help if they sealed the pump housing to stop any water getting in."

"Remove the filters as per book instructions for descaling the machine and remove blue brew head seal. then run the full descaling cycle and replace the old damaged brew head seal with the new one."
